Ronaldson Tippet Factory Demolition

The 18th of December 2015, saw the central, last remaining section of the Ronaldson & Tippett  factory in Ballarat, Vic demolished. The North section and landmark signed wall went in March 2013. The office block and paintshop, will also imminently be lost.

The well renowned company started on the site in 1903, in a smaller shed, with the larger works being built in 1923. The foundry was located in the North East corner until 1949 when the new foundry and machine shop No.2 was built half a mile North. It was stated as being the most modern in the Southern Hemisphere, along with the title of being the largest manufacturer of engines with both plants running concurrently until 1971. Approximately 142,000 engines were produced in total.
